How to get rid of ear blackheads
Ah blackheads. They don’t discriminate. They’ll find you, no matter your gender, age, or skin type (ok fiiiiiine oily skin, they maybe love you the most).
But another thing they don’t give a hoots about, is where they pop up. The humble blackhead doesn’t just stick to your T-zone, oh no, they'll get you on the back, boobs, and you know what, even your ear lobes aren't safe.
Yep, this skin concern may not get a whole lot of ear-time, but one of the more visible (and tricky to deal with) spots blackheads tend to pop up, are inside earring holes.
In fact, during a recent Instagram Live, Jessica Alba shared the issue with expert esthetician, Shani Darden, with Alba explaining how she and her daughter have the same issue.

As both women were giving their daughters at-home facials during their live stream, Darden explained how we must not only keep this area of the ear cleaned out, but also extend it to the outer part of our ear, the conchal bowl.

If a focus on cleansing the area doesn't work, Darden suggests using a tiny amount of alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) serum to aid in clearing and preventing them. AHAs provide vast benefits for the skin, primarily via exfoliation, helping to remove clogged, dead skin cells, which can lead to breakouts and blackheads.
As always, our bh members also have some amazing tips when it comes to stubborn blackheads. One product that came highly recommended was the Mario Badescu Silver Lining Powder, which transforms into a paste style mask when mixed with water. The mineral rich blend of kaolin, zinc and calcium carbonate is specifically formulated to unclog congestion and prevent further blackheads. For $19 at Mecca it might be worth a shot, too. Thanks beauties!
