The girls’ guide to sensitive skin

Recently, I came across a forum thread entitled ‘Make-up for Sensitive Eyes’. I was struck by bh member Harmony Queen’s story of puffy eyelids and “minor cysts” – and her resulting inability to wear eye make-up. As an oily-skinned girl, I couldn’t exactly relate to her plight, but I do know one thing: every girl deserves to feel comfortable in her own skin. Considering National Eczema Week is also fast approaching, I decided it was the perfect time put our very best sensitive skin articles together in the one place. This is everything you need to know about sensitive skin and how to treat it properly…

Listened to Beauty heaven advice about dry, itchy skin and bought myself aloe vera product (my first thought was to go to my garden and harvest some fresh aloe vera). Thanks for the advice. I can sleep now without waking up to itchiness and discomfort

An oldie, but a goodie. Just stumbled upon this article again (even though it was already in my favourites) and remembered a few tips that I’d been neglecting.

My skin is dry and does tend to be a bit sensitive. But obviously my skin is liking my current skin care, because it’s looking and feeling really good.

I did not think I had overly sensitive skin on my face but after trialling a few products and reacting to them in a negative way, I am beginning to think, perhaps I have.

An interesting fact: there is no such thing as skin types but there is such thing as skin conditions and reactions to products, pollens, dust and dander. 80% of us also have "combination" skin that consists of an oily T zone and drier patches on other parts of the face.
I learnt this from my cousin who is a dermatologist, my brother who is pharmacist and a close friend who is a compounding pharmacist.
The best thing for skin sensitivities is to keep your skincare simple and for the most part, fragrance free!
I am skincare obsessed and a sucker for pretty packaging!
