The makeup removers bh’s editors swear by
As beauty editors, no two days are the same. Whether we’re trying out new products, filming, shooting or attending product launch events, we always need to be looking and feeling our best. While this doesn’t necessarily mean looking our best requires us to wear a full face of makeup, it comes with the territory that we enjoy the different looks we can create on a daily basis.
With that in mind, as beauty editors we need some seriously hardworking makeup removers that will remove everything from waterproof mascara to a red lip, without compromising our complexion. Here are the beautyheaven editors' go-to products for removing makeup:

“Earlier this year I discovered Dermalogica’s Pre-cleanse oil, and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. You pump out the oil and apply it to dry skin, massage for 40 seconds, then add warm water to your hands to create a milky consistency and massage it into your face for another 40 seconds, rinse and follow with your cleanser. I’ve also started using Face Halo, which is perfect for the days I’m in a real hurry.”
“I have tried a bunch of makeup remover methods and I have a few that I really love. The Manicare Makeup Remover Towel is one of my go-tos. It’s so easy to do if you can’t be bothered to rub or scrub or apply a product. All you do is rinse the towel, wipe your face and you’re done. If I’m also feeling a little lazy I love to use the Olay Luminous Micellar Water. It has a pump bottle which makes it super easy to use and I find it really gentle on the skin. And finally, I love the Alpha-H Liquid Laser Cleansing Oil to remove makeup. It’s light and silky and makes my skin look great!”
“While I would love to say I have the energy and motivation to thoroughly double cleanse my skin every night, most of the time that is not the case. My favourite product for a one and done swipe that removes all traces of makeup is the Nivea MicellAIR Skin Breathe Expert Makeup Remover. I have always been a fan of micellar water for a quick freshen up but what I love about Nivea MicellAIR is that I only need one or two cotton pads to remove even the most stubborn waterproof makeup without rubbing or tugging on my skin.”
“I remove my makeup in two stages. First, I use my Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes (Kim Kardashian uses them, so you know they’re good) to remove my foundation, concealer, brow makeup, lip product and the majority of my eyeshadow. I usually end up using two wipes to remove it all. Since I have eyelash extensions, I have to be careful when I remove any makeup from around my lashes. So, I then use the Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover with q-tips around my eye area to remove any leftover makeup/ eyeliner.”
“I’ve been a faithful makeup wipe user since I was a teenager – for a while, it was my only form of skincare! I use them every single night to remove my makeup – even when it’s 2am and I’ve had a few too many vinos, I still give my face a lazy swipe with my Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes. I once tried to switch to a multi-use makeup removal method, but a dermatologist advised against this as I’m quite acne-prone. Multi-use removers are great for some, but for those of us with persistent pimples, they can actually aid the spread of acne-causing bacteria – not thanks! But thankfully, my Neutrogena wipes have never let me down!”
