Blogstar entry: a brush up with an Australian
To me Rae Morris has always been “god” (positive that lots of you makeup enthusiasts think the same) until last year when I met her and she said Pat McGrath’s ‘god’ so I decided to settle it and call her Jesus!!
RAE MORRIS COLLECTION – A.K.A Brushes that will literally change your life for the better of course ;-) I mean I don’t think I’m a great makeup artist but these brushes make me look good. It really is ridiculous how good they are I swear my brother could become a makeup artist!! Now that is not normal!!!
Rae has put so much hard work and dedication into these brushes, including 3 trips to china, each brush is hand made by the 4 best Japanese brush makers in the world, the 4 of them sit there and hand make every single brush whether there needs to be 5 of a particular brush or 50,000 those 4 brush makers will make them by HAND, its really hard to concept I know at first I was like huge machines, massive factory, massive fast production sounded simple!!! Boy was I wrong!
So Rae’s Brushes -
A 27-piece set with a mix of squirrel and synthetic hair, USA PETA approved, Handles are all recycled bamboo and Every brush has been hand designed by Rae they have soft edges where other brushes have rough square edges which lets faces it do our faces have rough square edges? NO they have a combination of different shapes and angles, which is why Rae has perfectly tapered points, and angles on all her brushes. Oh an did I mention there dye free, and received an Environmental Award!!!!!
In the set I have so many favourites although there is 1 thing I find everyone
Owns, except they never use it, it’s the Mascara Applicator.
I’m sure the first thing that comes to mind is metal comb, near yours or someone else’s eyes = Serious danger!!
Metal combs will change the way you apply mascara forever because they
-Comb through every single strand of lash
-Get right in there to the roots of the lashes as wands are not thin enough, in the picture you can see the mascara wand as opposed to the metal comb its much more sleek for reaching the most un-reachable lashes
-Leave’s eyelashes separated evenly and clump free
So I suggest you start loading up your mascara to the metal comb and start combing through your lashes!!!
GREAT TIP: To clean Mascara off comb use a disposable mascara wand and slide down comb like in pic an use with a little brush cleaner and mascara comes of a dream without damaging applicator.
There are Kabuki brushes in the range, The Mini kabuki is a great brush for applying blush or bronzer a lot of people apply blush with those bigger blush brushes (I’m so guilty) an majority of us apply it in the wrong area anyway, so with the mini kabuki you cant really go wrong.
The mini kabuki gives you complete control on where you’re applying your blush, because of its size you are less inclined to go blush CRAZY!! You should keep it high this will give you a youthfulness think of it as an instant facelift! It’s also good to soften eye shadow, or lightly powder T-Zone and is super soft on the skin!
Rae Morris not only has what I would say the best brushes on earth, but it’s also good to have a Brush Range that is quickly becoming recognized by many international artists and is represented by the royalty of our makeup industry Rae Morris it really puts Australia on the Map in the Makeup/fashion/beauty World. I mean if “Jesus” uses them so should we!!!
