#1 Keep it simple
Okay, first and foremost, a rainy day is not the time to test out that bold eye look you’ve been considering. The more products you use, the more that are at risk of being ruined in the rain.
#2 Keep it creamy
Wet weather calls for creamy makeup products. Swap your powder foundation for a matte tinted moisturiser, your lip gloss for a creamy lipstick and your powder blush for a cream blush.
#3 Waterproof it all
Obviously, we don’t want panda eyes, so try to use as much waterproof makeup as you can. Or, you can pick up the nifty Make Up Forever Aqua Seal ($40, www.adorebeauty.com.au) which gives any makeup formula a waterproof finish.
#4 Lock your look
It's vital that you lock your makeup in place to stop it slipping an sliding everywhere in the rain. Use a good (preferably mattifying) primer before you apply your makeup and finish with a setting spray to hold it all in place.
#5 Pack some backups
Okay, so you’ve kept your makeup simple, primed, used creamy, waterproof products and finished with a setting spritz. Now you’re about to brave the rainy world. What do you arm yourself with for touch-ups? Q-tips and makeup wipes are handy to clean up any eye makeup issues while patting with a blender sponge or blotting wipe can sort out any problems with your base.
Remember: if you’ve piled on the waterproof makeup, you need to remove it properly. Try The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye and Lip Make-Up Remover or Juliette Armand Biphase Eye Make Up Remover.
