I received Elizabeth Arden Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer from my beauty room points... And I'm so glad I did! This is by far the best primer I've used.

I love how silky smooth it just simply glides onto my skin without any effort, and really does leave my face ready like the perfect canvas for my make up! After leaving for a minute or two to allow it to set, I applied my make up and it just went on with such ease.
My make up lasted throught the day without me having to dab at my shiny t-zone I tend to get. I loved how I could feel confident in knowing I wasnt shining during the day! And best of all.... My pores!!! My complexion was flawless! Elizabeth Arden Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer really did smooth out my skin texture along with those pesky fine lines!

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer is a holy grail produt in my make up case. I'm one happy gal!

Background to my review: I have dry skin and I’m in my early fifties. It is no surprise that I have fine lines and wrinkles, but I also have larger pores on my cheeks and nose (probably from sun damage and/or the ageing process). I have not seen much of a difference in how my foundation appeared when using primers, but a couple of them softened some cakiness. I have a feeling that people with oily and/or combination skin see more benefits from a primer, especially because most primers are mattifying.

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer is housed in an opaque plastic tube. The primer has a neutral scent and a beige colour, but the colour does not show up on the skin. Although the Elizabeth Arden primer has the typical silicone feel of all silicone-based primers, it also has a subtle mousse-like texture.

I used the Elizabeth Arden primer with various liquid foundations, but I could not see even the slightest improvement in how my foundation looked, except for one foundation (see the next paragraph). I could not see any blurring of larger pores, softening of fine lines or wrinkles, or an improvement in textural issues.

The only time that I noticed an improvement was when I used the Elizabeth Arden primer with Revlon PhotoReady Liquid Makeup. This foundation looked horrible on my skin. It made my skin look like dried up leather and orange peel in my magnifying makeup mirror. It also accentuated the larger pores. When I stippled lots of the primer into the larger pores, then I applied the foundation, I noticed a very subtle improvement.

I did not notice an improvement in how long my foundation lasted. This is possibly because these days I’m using better quality foundations that last longer.

I'm not really into primers , having used one occasionally, i wasn't a fan and to be honest not really sure if it was a nessesary step in my regime.
I clearly just hadn't found the right one ! Im so happy with this product , i absolutely love it.

The packaging is in a lovely little classy tube, easy to squeeze product out. The primer is a skin tonned colour that has a silky texture that glides on and blends beautifully into the skin. The tiniest amount is needed and straight away you can feel the difference to your skin.

The primer did a wonderful job of blurring out pores and fine lines. It evened out the look of my skin. I think this could be used as is or underneath foundation.

What it did for my foundation though was incredible. I have no doubt that this primer will make almost any foundation look better. My make up looked beautiful, it blended well into skin and most importantly my foundation was set for the whole entire day. Normally by the end of the day , face looks a bit worse for wear but my foundation didn't even need touching up !

Now i know why primers are amazing - i will now never not use one. It does wonders and i will be purchasing this one again.

This primer is perfect for my combo skin, i am oily on my forehead and nose yet normal to dry on my cheeks and chin. This primer controlls my oily areas and smoothes my dry patches, it is the best primer i have tried!

After reading the reviews on this primer, I purchased this product from bh at the recent beautorium. I regularly use primer to increase the staying power of my makeup.

The primer comes in a white tube that's so typical of Elizabeth Arden products. It's quite slim and easy to carry around in your makeup kit.

The primer in itself has a translucent tan shade. Once you smooth it ontoyour skin, it blends quite easily and takes on your skin tone. It has no distinct scent to it. It goes on quite smoothly onto your skin, feels quite silky and dries down to a matte finish.

It claims to have a brightening formulation, but I couldn't see any discernible difference to my makeup. I already use a luminous foundation, so the primer doesn't light me up any more than my foundation does.

What I love about this primer is the skincare benefits and the blurring technology built into it. It smooths pores and blurs out most fine lines. And over time, I've noticed that my fine lines have started to look minimised. Some days, I just use the primer and skip foundation altogether. I rarely do this with other primers, but with this one, it works!

This primer works quite well when it comes to increasing the staying power of my makeup, it even maintained the richness of the colors beautifully (especially my blush and highlighter).

Overall, it is a great product and ranks quite highly in my books.

After reading the amazing reviews of the trial team, I knew that I had to splurge every last point I have collected since joining BH to pick this up in the beautorium. I am so glad that I did! This product has solved so many of my skin problems.
I was having trouble with foundation collecting in the pores on my chin, and refusing to stick to the rest of my skin. This would give me a weird spotted complexion that was noticeable from a distance. I appealed to BH forums for some help on this issue, and was advised to obtain a good facial primer. I have used some cheaper primers that smelled funny and did not seem to make much difference. Since using the Elizabeth Arden primer, my makeup stays on all day long, and my spotted chin is looking much better. I had no idea my cheap foundation could look so good! Instead of investing in an expensive foundation, I chose to use a good primer and it has worked out well.
The primer itself has a weird colour to it, I am not sure why it is tan but it applies clear. I use just a tiny smear of it to cover my whole face, and I appreciate it has a dry feel, not super slippery like cheap silicone primers. It has not aggravated my skin but improves the appearance. Overall I am very happy with this beautorium purchase.

I received a GWP samplesize of this product and love it and will purchase in future.

Product came in a little squeeze tube and comes out like a flesh colour cream that
has a divine silky smooth texture.

It transforms on skin without any colour and just glides so smoothly and leaves the most amazing satin smooth base without any tacky feeling.

Makeup just glides over afterwards.
I have many primers from Dept Store brands and I think this one is my favourite by far.

I tried this primer as a member of the trial team and I am so glad I had the chance to trial it!

The packaging was simple and easy to use, although I think as the product empties it may become difficult to squeeze the last of the product out due to the shape of the bottle neck. The small size of the bottle is perfect for travel, particularly because it is lightweight.

The product itself was practically odourless and very easy to apply. It was a slight beige colour which worried me initially due to my very pale skin, but once smoothed onto the skin the colour seemed to disappear. My skin instantly felt velvety smooth and my fine lines and pores almost vanished completely. I used this on it's own as a quick pick-me-up and under my regular liquid foundation.

Under my foundation I found it made a great primer, at the end of a long, humid, hot day my foundation hadn't budged despite my desperate wiping at sweat throughout the day.

Despite using this most days of the week throughout the trial period, I haven't noticed any of the longer-term effects of use on my skin.

This primer has a beautiful smoothing effect on the skin. I found that it had a silicon feel under my fingers when I applied it, similar to the smashbox photo ready primer, but it didn't stay and was not slippery when it had time to settle in to the skin. I didn't feel like it pro longed the wear time of my makeup, but the initial application of foundation was really blendable and easy. I can't honestly say that over the past few weeks I've seen any anti aging effects or age reversal effects, but it's still a good primer to have and I'll definitely finish the tube!
