The best makeup looks for your holiday

It’s time to get away. Wherever your destination, holiday beauty calls for only the essentials. Shake off excess baggage and streamline your makeup look for the journey you crave. Even if you're not hitting the slopes in Colorado, lazing by the sea on the Amalfi Coast or getting back to nature in Tasmania – a girl can dream. Embrace a jetsetter’s attitude and let your routine take you there.

Ski trip – Aspen, Colorado, USA
All you need is your ski pass and a few cold weather beauty essentials. For a faux winter glow, fight the frost with products that focus on hydration. Alpha-H Multi-Perfecting Skin Tint makes a perfect snow-ready base. Even if leaving the lodge seems ambitious, your lips will be in need of some serious TLC. Use Blistex® Lip Conditioner SPF 15 to relieve chapped lips. Since your eyes and lips are the only things visible under all those warm layers, enhance them with Maybelline New York Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner and a few layers of Designer Brands Lash Extensions Water Resistant Mascara. A swipe of CLINIQUE Chubby Stick Moisturising Lip Colour balm in Pudgy Peony will take you to snow bunny perfection.
Mediterranean vacation – Positano, Italy
When you’re chilling seaside, there’s no time for full coverage. Aside from constant SPF application (obviously), maintaining a simple beauty routine with minimal product is the way to go. Post-swim, swipe ModelCo BRONZE bronzing powder across your cheeks, dab a hint of colour to your lips with Benefit Benetint and brush your brows up with Maybelline New York Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara. After dark, apply M.A.C Lustre Drops to your sun-kissed skin for a bronzed goddess glow. Add Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Color in Coral Crush to finish the look.
Nature-based escape – Tasmania, Australia
Get outside your comfort zone and go on an adventure. Visit the great outdoors and breathe in the crisp, fresh air. For an active holiday, you have to go close to barefaced. Wear Dove Protective Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15 to moisturise and give a slight tint to skin. If you would like a little more coverage and a product that also offers high sun protection, try the BIODERMA Photoderm BB Cream SPF 50+. Add a touch of Almay Smart Shade CC Concealer + Brightener to brighten under the eyes and protect lips from the elements with Lanolips Tinted Balm SPF 30. ulta3 Clear Mascara will go undetected and can also be used to brush brows in place. Bring Arbonne Cosmetics Blush in Taffeta for a natural post-hike flush across the cheeks.

My next big holiday will be six weeks in England but I won't be doing makeup overload. I'll take some multi-purpose items but as long as my skin is in really good condition I won't need much.

depends on where you are going really - I always bring my own sunscreen and basics like mineral powder foundation, coloured lip oil, wet/dry eye shadow and waterproof mascara. I also like to buy makeup at the location because it seems to be better formulated for their conditions. Worked well when my western makeup was sliding off my face in tropical humid Asia, their BB's stayed put and protected my face with their high spf.

A really thin base is the way to go when it's warm and you're on holidays!

A few of these products are no longer available or not listed on bh any more. I like tinted sunblock, tinted lip balm & eyeliner as a minimal holiday go to.

Will be heading to the Gold Coast and on a weekend cruise eventually, can't say I plan my makeup looks though - I'm very minimal with my makeup, but this article was still interesting to read!

If I were on holiday I'd probably just do brows, eyeliner/mascara and lip gloss :D

I love the Italian one, but would probably stick to a basic, low maintenance look most of the time - cc cream, natural colours, mascara and some tinted lip gloss.

I am leaving for a short holiday in less than 3 weeks now. Already working out what to take and it won't be a lot as it's going to be hot.
Also taking things that I have enough for a few days and then ditching them so I have more room in luggage for shopping :-)

I remember on a holiday I love simplicity: Lip tint, SPF BB cream/moisturizer and a mascara

Well, I am going to Bali next February and seeing as it is so hot there, I will be going makeup free, except for a bit of lippy.

Lanolips tinted lip balm is fabulous! My favourite thing to take with me on holidays is a good facial mist - I use it everywhere to hydrate my skin: plane; outside etc.
