Do you exfoliate this body part?

We’ve already stressed the importance of using a hand cream that contains sunscreen, but have we stepped on our soapbox and rammed home the importance of giving your paws a good old exfoliation on a regular basis? I’m not sure we have, actually.
Like your eye area, your hands age fast. Like, really fast. The skin is thinner, and they’re constantly exposed to sunlight and other severe environments (hello, harsh cleaning products!). But the sad truth is this: we tend to ignore them. And it’s a shame, really. That’s exactly why we’re suggestion you amp up the benefits of your regular hand cream by adding in a few extra skin smoothing steps…
WASH YOUR HANDS WITH THIS: Crabtree & Evelyn Pomegranate, Argan and Grapeseed Deep Cleansing Hand Wash
This delicious-smelling gem contains natural exfoliants that remove impurities and polish away any rough patches while deeply cleansing the hands at the same time. Pop it in your bathroom for daily use and you’ll be helping your hands without even realising it.
EXFOLIATE YOUR HANDS WITH THIS: Crabtree & Evelyn Pomegranate, Argan and Grapeseed Hand Recovery
Squeeze a little of this polishing formula onto your hands to exfoliate and re-texturise the skin. Once they’re washed clean, be prepared to be blown away by how soft and smooth your skin really is. This wonder also contains emollients to condition your paws, too, so they’ll be left feeling hydrated as well. Love.
HYDRATE YOUR HANDS WITH THIS: Crabtree & Evelyn Pomegranate, Argan and Grapeseed Hand Therapy
To extend that super-soft feeling, apply this sweet-smelling goodie after you’ve finished exfoliating, and after each time you wash. Containing macadamia nut, pomegranate, grapeseed, and argan oils, it’s one hard working cream that’ll leave your paws intensely nourished.

I have always had "old lady hands" so I try to exfoliate every couple of weeks and moisturise several times a day.

I love the cheeky title of this article because I keep seeing it and wonder which body part it is and then I remember that I have already read the article! Yes, I have been using my face wash on my hands in the shower and its nice and soft. I also try to use hand cream regularly throughout the day. I have also given myself a homemade hand massage-its super easy. I just use some ordinary white sugar and mix it with some sweet almond oil and then I massage it into my hands focussing on my fingernails and cuticles. I let it soak in for 5 mins and then gently wash it off and pat dry my hands on a soft fluffy towel. I then apply my favourite scented hand cream. This exfoliator works well on lips too. You can also use salt and olive oil for a savoury-not-sweet massage. Just be mindful that if you use salt and olive oil on your lips, you will taste the saltiness on your lips too!

I love exfoliating my hands and then drenching them in hand cream. They feel so nice after the cream has absorb in.

I exfoliate in the shower so my hands get exfoliated with pomegranate seeds. I use an orange scented hand cream often to keep my hands mousturised.

I never have but after reading this article it seem like a good idea especially since I use up my exfoliators so slowly

Being a bit of a germophobe and working in the health industry, I tend to be extremely paranoid about washing my hands (I wash them up to 30 times a day on average). Another bad habit is washing the dishes without using gloves. Both the hand soap and detergent I use are really harsh on my skin, which I didn't realise until I started to get really dry, tight and peeling hands especially around the fingertips. As such, they then start to catch or crack and bleed. Given that I don't exfoliate my hands (I assumed any exfoliation would be too harsh) I find my skin is getting worse. Reading this article has made me realise that it's really important, as sloughing off the dead skin will help get rid of the peeling and therefore the moisturiser is able to work better. I guess I'm a convert now, and will definitely be looking into a good exfoliator, like the Crabtree & Evelyn one.

I don't exfoliate my hands. But I use an exfoliating towel on my arms in the shower. I'll include hands in my exfoliating routine.

No, I don't specifically exfoliate my hands, only as an extension of exfoliating my body. I will be more conscious of it now, after reading this article, whenever I grab a scrub in the shower, I'll spend a bit of time on my hands as well as my feet and body. I am very good at protecting my hands from the sun though, I am always putting sunscreen on the back of them, as I do want to keep them looking as young as possible!

I do exfoliate my hands quite regularly in the shower with my loofah. I don't however, moisturise my hands as often as I should though. They look quite dry sometimes :S

Yes, I do. Just like any other part of your body, the telltale signs of ageing are visible in your hands. All that hand washing dries the hands fast. I pamper my hands daily with a good moisturizing hand wash, followed by a good moisturizing hand cream e.g. Botani Olive OIl Hand cream and once a month I treat my paws to a hand spa.

Not usually. In fact, I hardly ever think about exfoliating them. Guess I'll add that into my usual body scrub routine. Thanks for the tip!
