7 Days of hair-spiration

Work is out and holidays are in full swing, so naturally your social life is in overdrive. But how to keep up appearances without coughing up for a new dress every occasion?
Work that mane, girlfriend.
Keeping things fresh and interesting will draw attention away from your outfit and to your tresses. We’ve taken inspiration from celebrities and catwalk queens to bring you a hot hair look for every day of the week.
Day 1: Let’s get braid-y
Braids are all the rage right now, so it’s a great time to embrace the woven wonder. Play around with polished and textured styles, and rock them everywhere from sunset drinks to fancy soirees. Never done a braid before? No worries - follow our foolproof step-by-step guide on how to braid your own hair.
Cheat’s tip: Get a two-for-one deal and sleep in your braid for next day beach-hair-don’t-care. Brush the plaits out using the Scunci Detangle Brush and amp up the texture with VO5 Give Me Texture Dry Texturising Spray for an extra tousled effect.
Day 2: All wrapped up
Want to get rid of those leftover Christmas ribbons? Easy. Wrap your pony in a ribbon and finish off with a bow to give your mane some serious sweetness. Experiment with different thicknesses and colours and the choices are endless. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.
Top tip: It’s instinct to tie your hair up when it’s steamy outside, but doing this all the time can actually be really damaging. Remember to protect those strands with a light spray serum. We love the Schwarzkopf Extra Hair Care Ultimate Oil Elixir Serum because it reduces breakage and prevents elastics from leaving their mark.
Day 3: Boho chic
It’s a little bit rock, a wee bit English rose, and a whole lotta Woodstock. This year, TONI&GUY took Marchesa to a new level of gorgeous with feminine, understated locks and we’ve been loving it ever since. The bohemian glamour vibe is all about loose, effortless, voluminous waves, and it’s a staple style for every party girl.
For Woodstock waves: Get your mitts on the TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe Glamour Jumbo Tong and curl your hair in mid-sized, uneven sections. Prep your strands with TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe Glamour 3D Volumiser and finish the look with TONI&GUY Glamour Firm Hold Hairspray.
Day 4: Bardot bombshell
Throw yourself in the spotlight at the next party with a look that pays homage to the beautiful people of the French Riviera. Today, we’re going for sultry, Brigitte Bardot-inspired bed hair. To get that enviable 50s volume, spritz your roots with Biosilk Volumising Therapy Root Lifter and tease them with the Moroccanoil Boar Bristle Teasing Brush before going in hot with the VS Sassoon Big Hair Hot Rollers for maximum va-va-voom! Your mantra: the bigger, the better.
Day 5: The sexy sweep
It’s summer, so sweep your long hair to one side to show a little skin. To make sure your locks stay in place, twist a section of hair behind your ear and secure with pins before misting with a strong hold hairspray. Tresemme Freeze Hold Extra Strong Hairspray offers extra hold and ultimate control, while Lady Jayne Contoured Bobby Pins are perfectly curved to the shape of your head, which means they’ll stay put all day (and night) long. C’est magnifique!
Day 6: Stay in the loop
Our hearts skipped a beat when we saw hairstylist Odile Gilbert’s chignon grace the catwalk at Altuzarra’s spring ‘15 show. It's a bit fancy, but easier than you think. Gather your hair into a pony and wrap a small section around the elastic. Then, pin a hairnet to the base of the ponytail and loop the bottom half underneath. Pull each side into a beautiful heart shape and secure with bobby pins. Finally, use Kerastase Paris Couture Styling Laque Noir to lock it all in. How’s that for romance?
Day 7: Ocean girl
What would a summer hair inspo list be without a little beach action? Get just-back-from-the-beach texture by applying sea salt spray to wet locks and breaking it up with your fingers to avoid ending up with that dense, ropey look. If your strands don’t naturally curl up, grab a straightener and create some waves. For a mermaid vibe, twist and pin pieces of hair from the front to the back. Now, all you need is a clam shell bra…
For beach babe locks: Use Fudge BIG HAIR Raise the Roots for oomph, Muk Haircare Beach Muk Sea Salt Spray to separate and define curls and VS Sassoon Wet & Dry Straightener for quick and easy use.

!Braiding can look lovely if it is done properly. It can be a bit tricky trying to do it on yourself

All these hair styles look great if they suit your face shape etc. Just as a point of interest I have applied for the Miranda Kerr 7 day hair trial at least 3 times and never ever received one! Has that happened to any one else out there?

Love the braids but I end up looking like a little kid whenever I braid my hair! :( I'll probably try that Ocean Girl style if I can remember to buy a sea salt spray!

Short and sassy for me - quick wash and drip dry, but love these styles, especially the boho.

My go to hair look is the Bardot bombshell look as it's the easiest one for me to achieve. I love the sexy sweep but can never get my hair to stay to the side!
