How to create a sleek ponytail
Suitable for school, for work or for a night out with the girls, the humble ponytail will always be in style. But if you really want to turn your pony into a show-stopping 'do, you need to keep it slicked to perfection, and the key to achieving this is in the technique.
The secret? Section your mane. Don't, and you run the risk of bumps and kinks. By creating sections, you'll end up having more control over the result. Split your hair into two, and starting with the top section, create your first ponytail. Doing this section first will enable you to pinpoint where you wish for your pony to sit, as well as ensuring no bumps can be seen from the top. Once this section is perfected, bring the lower section up to meet the first ponytail, and fasten the two together with another hair elastic. And if your pony isn't as slick-looking as you'd like it to be, run a straightener over the tail of your pony, then finish of with setting hairspray.
Hot tip: Use an eyebrow brush to flatten any flyaways or loose hair.
