Do we need sun protection for our hair?
Absolutely! Particularly if you colour your hair - the sun can fade it so very fast! A great product which I just recently tried is a KMS leave in spray - it's about $25 - but soo worth it!
Your right elmo during the hot summer days you hair have exposure to the sun so it's a good idea to wear a hat and protection SPF spray so your hair doesnt dry out its just like a blowdryer of hair iron here something i found on the net that would help you:
Summer may bring glorious visions of natural highlights and long windblown hair. The reality is that summer sun and humidity can damage your hair's cuticle and result in dry, drab, split, brittle or frizzy hair and ends.
It also helps to braid your hair or tie it to a bun
After the pre sun you should give your tresses a deep moisturising replenshing hair conditioner or treatment
I don't have coloured hair, just dark hair...and I always thought that damage hair would grow out??
you definitely should. it's just like a heat protector (when you use a hair straightener)
i just use PPS leave-in conditioner and silk hair treatment heat protector
are they all oily based that cover the hairs to protect? i brought a keune one that is a spray and makes my hair look so oily, does it come in creams or just normal types of sprays?
i think it is necessary. but i haven't tried one.....i think it is time to buy one :p
Definitely necessary to use a hair product with UV protection. Hair can get particularly damaged in summer from salt at the beach or chlorine in the pool. Aveda do a great sun care range for hair. Here's the link:
Kerastase also do a really good repairing serum for sun damage.
im really keen to invest in a sun protect one- does any one know any good ones for blondes...? I find some of the other ones make my blonde hair brassy?
Ray_jay there's a kms one which is really good - my friend and I (both blondes) were using it over summer. I'll find a link.
Oh and Kerastase has a great soleil (sun) range...shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioning spray
i use PPS Life Jacket. As well as uv protection it also protects your hair from chlorine!. although i wouldn't wear it in town cause it kinda makes my hair look greasy, but at the beach you can get away with it because it gives your hair a textured look like beach hair!
just look around for brands with sun protection ranges or products with a uv filter, i know redken have a good range that strangely enough includes a body lotion so do kms and pps life guard or something like that gives you great beach hair if thats what your after
Ive used the Joico K-PAK Sun Therapy Protective Sun Milk for awhile now, i have naturally light hair so it gets lightened by the sun quite easily and this stops that a fair bit :)
I colour my hair blonde and am always worried about going out in the sun as my hairdresser told me that the sun turns dye jobs brassy, particularly when you are swimming as well =(
Any good suggestions for a product that can prevent my blonde hair going brassy? Thanks <3

This was a great quality mineral brush from Nude by Nature. It is nice to hold in the hand and makes it really easy to apply mineral powder foundation out of the pot.
