Anyone else want to start on chat on high end makeup? New releases, brands/products you love etc. I don't wear any drugstore makeup and want to find others to discuss the more premium brands with.
New in town: Guerlain L'Essentiel Shine Control Primer
That bottle is gorgeous!
Gorgeous bottle. Have you tried this one yet? I’m looking for a new primer
I'm using foundation from the line. Love. And bottle design is same with the primer, very pretty!
What level of coverage is it?
Bit much for me, medium to even more. I sheer it out and apply with fingers like BB cream. So it becomes skin like. Gives satin like skin luminosity. Not for matte lovers.
Fingers all the way! Hate the look of foundation applied with a brush or sponge
Hey, Nys: I see you've just updated your avatar. You really know how to rock winged liner, girl! Love it!
Thank you!! That's so nice of you. I do love wings but they are usually sisters not twins ;)
I'm sure we can throw in perfume as well.
Anyways, Guerlain came out with head band device that you place on while smelling perfumes. This band scans your brainwaves while doing so, determining which family of perfumes will entice which brain reaction. And this is how for sure one will know which they like the most, not even thinking about it.
Cool and fun I think
Ahhh I want to try it!
I love Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation, especially in the cooler months. It adds a natural glow to your skin. The shade suits my complexion perfectly. I don't know about you but high-end foundation shades or undertones are spots on. That's why I don't shop much in the drugstore for foundations.
Completely agree with you! I look at pictures of myself when I was a teenager and cringe at how orange I was lol
OMG don’t we all! Back when I was a teenager (mid-late 1980s) it was fashionable to wear blue eyeshadow, as well as way too much blush. Eeekkkkk!
As a teen in 90s I did not know makeup existed! My mom had I think a lipstick or two. The rest, did not exist (for me at least, did not see any or was blind to it)
I have been obsessed with make up since I was very young. Mum bought me my own collection of goodies and has always encouraged me to use it. In those days we didn’t have anywhere near as much to choose from as we do now, and the most common budget brand name was ‘Starlet’, which was purchased from Coles. I went to a private school and they wouldn’t allow us to wear make up to school. Once I finished school and went on to Uni I went nuts with make up. Like I said before, blue eyeshadow, too much blush.......OMG. Thank goodness I’ve come a loooooooooong way!
I grew up in a country town so there was only Maybelline or Max Factor available at the chemist lol! I moved to the Perth when I was 17, 5 minutes from a Mecca store. 16 years later I'm still in love ♥️
Rose_P, I would love to see a pic of that, please haha.
Hey Nys!! Have you tried NARS sheer glow? My friend uses it and it looks absolutely stunning.
I’m currently hooked on Westman Ateliers Vital Skin Stick atm it doesn’t make me break out and covers any redness effortlessly. *but I don’t wear makeup often so I can’t say about long term effects, it does have a nice finish, almost skin like so no one can tell I’m using anything ;)
Oooo now you're tempting me! I have tried the Sheer Glow, I prefer the tinted moisturiser though!
I’m going to grab something new for myself before my holiday, so I’ll have a look at the tinted moisturiser too. That would likely be better for me
Mecca will give you a sample to try so you see if you like it xx
The Nars tinted moisturiser is amazing. Just enough coverage without feeling too heavy. I prefer it over foundation.
Me too, I’ve been using the tinted moisturiser for ages! I just wish Nars would come out with some lighter olive shades.
It's so good isn't it? But yeah, they definitely need to expand the shade range
I'll start by saying that I have a nose full of blackheads and so there is plenty of area for these strips to work on.
I was so lucky to be on the trial team for this cream! I have sensitive dry skin and sometimes I get a bit of a rash and SO itchy!!
Avene is a great brand for sensitive skin and the Xeracalm AB Lipid Balm did not disappoint!
