Where do you get your perfumes from?
I want to get Dior Jadore and although it’s $80 cheaper at Chemist Warehouse than David Jones etc, I’m kinda wary as I don’t know why it’s so cheap. Thanks
I get mine from Chemist Warehouse. You are definitely getting the exact same product, except you are not paying 'luxe tax' on it to be put into lovely little counters with super-snooty people working behind the counters, trying to sell you stuff you don't need/want in big stores like DJ's.
Same product minus the razzle-dazzle in those shops :)
Hell, you can even pay for it online and get it delivered or go and pick it up at the counter because you already paid online.
Haha that’s a very good point! I’ve always bought my other perfumes (under $100) from CW, so I just wanted reassurance as $160 is a lot to spend on a perfume bottle, let alone $240 from DJ etc x
They are legit. Think about what would happen to so a massive company if they sold fake goods. They just don't have the 'prestige' attached to buying something from them, and they probably buy so many perfumes that they must get a massive discount.
Or they may even take a loss on them but they get people into the door, and really, tell me honestly whether you ever went into CW just to buy a single thing, the next thing you know you're at the check-out and you've ~somehow~ managed to put a $60 hole in your bank account?
CW is not as bad as Priceline. Priceline is somewhere I should never be allowed to go in. My god, that place.... it's evil. haha
100% agree on the Chemist Warehouse! You can find the same product for almost half the price than what Myer and DJ’s sell it for. That’s where I usually get my fragrances from to.
I usually buy my Chloe from Priceline. I’m just not sure about Chemist Warehouse. Why is it so cheap? Is it old stock? Or fake? TinDrum definitely has a point though. A large well known company such as Chemist Warehouse wouldn’t get away with selling fake perfumes. Well, you would hope.
Neither Priceline or CW can sell fakes, not in Stralia! Ebay and Amazon are the ones to stay clear from.
Though....what I noticed: tested couple of perfumes I was interested in across the road where I live at CW. All 3 smelled bad, really bad. Evaporated into something weird and some chemical nauseating smell. Then I go to DJ, smell two of those....yup, they smelled different, lasted so well and developed nice base note that stayed till I washed my dress.
Unsure if CW has perfumes that turned, were bad batches...but definitely there was something wrong with them!
I bought my recent perfumes in DJ and directly from YSL site when they had sales. Both online. Both delivered super fast and smell divine!
There are a few legit online Fragrance sites that sell mainstream and niche and limited edit perfumes with very very good competitive pricing. And it is good to watch out on sales and compare pricing. A popular one is FeelingSexy. Good to keep an eye on coupon codes too.
Yoh, What I think is that their testers are old but not the perfumes themselves. Sometimes I can't find testers for a lot of perfumes that I would love to smell and see if I like to buy in the future. I bought lately Dior joy from Sephora was on the sale instead of $175, I paid $148 and it is divine.
I'm really interested in samples. Do you know any company offers samples for high-end perfumes?
Also, I saw Ellie Saab perfume on Sale at Chemist warehouse, I'm really interested in it.
Fragrancenet.com sells decanters in around 8mL spray bottles. Genuine. Never shopped there, but have seen positive reviews . Also good competitive pricing woth coupon codes all the time
I will check them out, thank you!
I also have Shoptgr extension, as it has some codes that you can't find online easy.
Make sure to read reviews, check feedback etc...
It’s not that I think they sell fakes, just the quality of them. I’ve read conflicting information about CW in regards to perfumes being affected by temperatures etc, not smelling right due to bad batches etc. Damn internet.
I’ve never seen a 100ml Dior Jadore on sale at DJ and Myer, so I won’t hold my breath. I haven’t bought the bottle yet because of this. It’s a lot of money and I don’t want to be disappointed as you would understand.
I've bought perfume before from Chemist Warehouse both in store and online, bit worried about buying instore from my local Chemist Warehouse store as they stock and display a lot of their perfume in the front window which gets a lot of sunlight. Am assuming this wouldn't be an issue if you buy online. Terry White Chemmart also have a fragrance section attached to their stores and they also price match. I bought a fragrance from there and they were happy to price match it.
I've bought from CW several times and had no issues, I buy from Myer & Dj's too as some perfumes I love are just not available at CW. And ofcourse airport when travelling LOL.
There is also a place called Mimosa Perfumery in Marrickville if you're in NSW. I always used to buy from them. Genuine products and pretty good prices.
I got this in a pack along with a couple of other products. The natio rose range is lovely and this was no exception. The cream is lightweight and absorbs quickly.
Super in love with the BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector, it ensures that your skin is super hydrated throughout the day.
I have never been one to use an under eye corrector before applying concealer and I am questioning how I did my make up before this!
