Hi. I'm getting braces soon and I would like to know the average cost of them.
I think it varies a lot but i am pretty sure the average is about $4,000? That was the approx cost of my sisters braces. It changes with each person though so i am not completely sure. Ask your authodontist chendie , they will be able to give you the correct amount!
It cost me $4,500. for my son three years ago. He still has them on now only the bottom , will be coming off in january, then a mouth plate only at night . you can pay it off, every time you go for a check up make big payments .I don't know a bout health funds i just payed for my son i hope i help but every case is different good luck ........
my braces costs about $6500. and my other friends who used to wear braces also paid the same. i think this is also depends on which orthodontists you go to?
I had to have blocks (horrible..you can't talk properly) and then braces and that cost over $6,000
6,000 and i had to have gum surgery so more like 6500
i know damned expensive i hate the health care in australia
its free in England if youd pay 2 thousand to get over there i guess its cheaper in the end
my sisters cost $4000 my brothers $6000 and mine $7000. it depends how much work you need done
Mine were going to cost like $5000 at capalaba....thenn there was at beinliegh that was cheaper for $3500....but thenn i got into the dentitry school one in brisbane city and it only coast like $500 or something. I get my braces off in a couple of months, my teeth are looking really straight :)
Oh wow they are so expensive, but i spose in the long run they are worth it because you will have beautiful teeth
Chendie I have braces atm (and getting them off so soon!!!! cant wait!!!) It really does depend on how much work it needs to be put in to fix your teeth and to straighten them up. Mine was around over $4000 it could likely be more or less. I had to pay a bit more because I had to take some teeth out (which was soo painful!!)
Just a note there Gabzilla, I think we're pretty privilaged to take advantage of most health cares and costs, in other countries lets say america, you pay for your own health care, especially surgerys/operations they can come in a handful
Has anyone heard or seen the braces that go behind the teeth instead of on the front?
Whoa interesting! Ive never heard it before..where did you hear this PipSqueak?
I wonder what the cost for clear braces would be?
Hm annibaby all i know it would be much expensive than normal braces..but to my opinion even when it's clear i think you could still tell that they have braces.
Pip yes i have heard of braces behind the teeth. You know Miley Cyrus she's got braces behind her teeth, i don't know of anyone with that kind of braces but it probably is very expensive.
Blimey, expensive aint they, but i suppose if you have to have them, then you have to have them. The dentistry school sounds interesting, can anybody go there, or do you have to apply. My daughter is going to need braces, and with 4 kids, $7000 is just out of the question.
Annibaby the clear braces are more expensive than the normal ones.
I've had braces a few years ago- just the normal variety and yep the clear are more expensive. They are also slightly bigger because the material used is not as strong as the metal ones of the smaller size. So for comfort my orthodontist recommended just going with the metal. Plus you get to pick colours haha (Y)
You can also get those clear retainer type thing. Every few weeks you go in and get a new retainer made that slowly adjusts your teeth bit by bit into a straighter position. Only problem is, this is wayy more expenisve and takes longer- as you have to take the retainers out to eat and the pressure isn't as strong on your teeth.
it depends. i think their a few thousand [$6000?] and you usually need retainers after as well.
Never heard of those....but have heard of invisalign. Like braces but invisible
Does private health insurance cover any of this????
Hi Fingerfood, I think they cover a little but not so sure but u should confirm it with someone, I think it will later if u do get braces and need things like taking a tooth out or having implants then private health insurance might cover. But best to check with your ortho or prehaps dentist
i have to get braces too :(
i have looked into it and things like invisalign and the hidden braces (at the back of your teeth) are only suited to certain people, and are a little more pricey.
Clear braces are more likely to break, and they can start to look really stained and awful, so I recommend the regular stainless steel brackets on your teeth. Braces are so common now on people of all ages, there is very little stigma attached to them.
it depends how long you need them and what problems you have with your teeth. I have had mine for 18 months( regular metal braces), get them off in 4 weeks and it's cost me just under 6000. That does not include xrays that i needed( about 5 times) or extra things required like visits to the dentist( i also had to pay another 500 to have 4 teeth removed. Then there's also regular check ups with the dentist as braces can cause gum disease so my orthodontist recommended going every 3 moths. it's pricey but totally worth it for me.
I have braces at the moment and have clear on the top..They are made out of porcelain and are actually quite strong and sturdy - if a little bigger than the metal mates! But in photos and from approx. 2 metres away, you can't even tell they're there! (Trust me, I did the FULL test when they were put on!) You notice the differing wires throughout your treatment more.
Bear in mind most orthos will only fit clear to the top teeth and metal to the bottom (and I love choosing the colors there!)
They were approx $500 more expensive than the metal ones. For some sanity (and not losing too much self confidence) it was small price to pay!
Hope this helps!
For many years I have had severe allergic reaction to normal hair colour that contains ammonia and peroxide.
I had good results both with niacinamide and vitamin C in the past, and I like using them both in my morning routine, but I'm not a fan of layering several products.
I loved this. I have dry hair but wow this changed it. It hydrated and moisturized my hair, it made it smell so nice and fresh. It gave my hair a shine.
