I have a pair of used (but still useable) sneakers. It seems kinda wasteful to just ditch it in the bin. Does anyone know where I can recycle it? I'm in Melbourne. Thanks lots!
Most charities accept used clothing and shoes, providing they are in a condition that is acceptable. I would suggest you wash them first though. The general rule that charities use these days is "if you are happy to give this item to a good friend and they are happy to accept then the charity too would accept it", this makes sense as it costs them money to dispose of unusable clothing items or other household goods.
You could donate to a charity nearby or put them on buy swap sell on facebook, someone might be able to use them and could come pick them up.
Op shop would be the best way to go... Or see if anyone in your life would like them... Or eBay??? Ha ha!!!
Vinnies or Salvos for the needy is good !
When we where overseas awhile back we saw a lot of recycle bins for clothes and shoes.
I think H&M here do take worm out clothing to recycle, but I’m not sure if they take shoes?
I receive recycling bags from charities in my area from time to time. I put my used clothes and shoes in them.
Raksha, if you or a friend have any creative skills, you could paint the sneakers and turn them into a work of art - a work of art that you wear, or a work of art to put on display.
I was on the look out the find some nails I had been using acrylics for so long and I was over the time it took .
