Holy Grail of expert tips - Hands & Feet

"[To avoid ingrown toenails] always trim the nails straight across - you can buy clippers that have a straight blade. If you don't have them then avoid rounding off the nail." -Alison Bowhill-Hayes, Sally Hansen Nail Expert
"A mismatched feature nail is the 'edgier' version of nail art. In a set of nude nails, try two glitter nails next to each other on the one hand and a single glitter nail on the other! In summer add a feature toe nail." -Rebecca Najjar, Education Ambassador at CND
"Apply cuticle oil BEFORE removing your nail polish - it helps stop the acetone drying out the skin around your nails." -bh member notsojayne
"To ensure your polish is good to the last drop, always make sure the neck of your polish bottle is clean and the lid is replaced correctly every time." -Nicole Moore, Education Ambassador at CND
"Washing dishes is a chore, [but you can] make it a treatment by applying cuticle oil and then wearing cotton gloves under your rubber gloves. The warmth from the dish water will help the cuticle oil penetrate deeply into the nails and surrounding skin." -Nicole Moore, Education Ambassador at CND

I love the top coat tip but worried it'll start to pile up a bit?

Good tips by the blogger! I have tried using Gubb World USA products for the DIY manicure. It's good for the basics.

Years ago when working in a care home I was chatting with an old lady of 96 years young when putting her to bed. She had skin of a 50 year old!! I asked her what her secret was...she told me Vasoline!! She had used it daily (at night) her whole life on her face, hands and feet and her skin was amazing!! It's especially good during the winter months when your face gets battered by the cold weather, and keeps your feet lovely and soft.

An acetone free nail polish remover won't be so drying and I make sure to wash my hands afterwards, then apply a good amount of Hand & Nail Cream afterwards. I use cuticle oil almost every night which is why my nails are in good condition.

I need to start reapplying my top coat more often to prolong my manicures. My manicures only last 24-48 hours.

Strengthening nail polishes are good to use along with hand and foot scrubs. I love the tips here. This reminds me I need to get a peppermint foot cream and foot powder.

Good article.I read some time ago that is good to apply lip balm on the cuticles before painting them , so the nail polish will just peel off.

Foot massages are the best way to feel refreshed I find! When I feel kind of stressed I give myself a foot scrub and massage and it just leaves me more relaxed!

I like the tip about applying cuticle oil before removing nail polish because acetone does dry out the skin around nails and it can really hurt.
