3 stats you need to know on World No Tobacco Day
Today is World No Tobacco Day and here at bh, we can’t think of a more urgent cause to get behind.
It’s no secret that smoking affects your overall health; however most smokers are unaware of just how poor their oral health can become, leading to chronic and lasting conditions. Smoking causes a lack of healthy blood flow in the mouth, resulting in these seriously scary statistics:
1) Smokers are six times more likely to develop mouth cancer and throat cancer than non-smokers
2) Studies have found that tobacco use is one of the biggest risk factors in the development of chronic gum disease, which can lead to loss of your teeth
3) Smokers have more tartar than non-smokers
We think these facts are enough to put anyone off smoking for good. Already quit but teeth stained from cigarettes? Switch your regular toothpaste to a whitening one such as Colgate Optic White™ Toothbrush + Built-In Whitening Pen, for good oral health and good-looking teeth!
