How-to: look your best in your wedding snaps
So your big day is just around the corner. All that planning and organisation is finally going to pay off - hooray!
Then once the day is over, you'll have all of those fantastic wedding photos to look back on! Memories that will last a lifetime and remind you of the best day of your life. Unless, of course, your wedding snaps are a little less than perfect. Sometimes your photos may not turn out how you expected, whether it’s a pose that doesn’t make the most of your best angle, or an awkward, uneven smile.
Fear not, though, we've got the tips to turn your run-of-the-mill wedding photos into oh-so gorgeous memories, and you can start preparing right now!
GET PICTURE PERFECT 1 YEAR (OR SO) BEFORE YOUR WEDDING
If you've been entertaining the thought of doing something about your slightly crooked smile for some time then addressing the problem in the lead-up to your wedding is as good a time as many. In fact, I couldn't think of a better time, especially because adults needn't fear the unsightly look of teenage-style braces any longer. Thanks to Incognito Lingual Braces, you can correct your crooked smile without anyone else being any the wiser. You see, these braces are practically invisible as they sit behind your teeth and work 24 hours a day to improve your smile. And, better still, they don't require adjustments like regular braces do!
GET PICTURE PERFECT ONE WEEK BEFORE YOUR WEDDING
You're on the home stretch now; everything should be in place to make this pretty much the best day of your life. So, what do you need to do to consider as the big day looms. Now’s the time to make final preparations: that means a final hairstyle trial, a glow-inducing facial and paying attention to your teeth-cleaning regime. There are a number of whitening toothpastes available at your local supermarket that can help treat tea or coffee-stained teeth. In addition to ensuring your teeth are sparkling pretty, why not invest in a gradual tanner that will provide you with a subtle yet totally gorgeous all-over glow? Gradual tanners give you the power to control the depth of colour, meaning that you can look as perfect as you always pictured on your big day.
GET PICTURE PERFECT ON THE DAY OF YOUR WEDDING
The Big Day has finally arrived! You must be feeling a little nervous now, but don't - It'll be a breeze (especially if you have the right ammo to ensure you pull off a perfect pose and deliver a perfect photograph). Practising poses may seem a little silly, but it can really help to ensure you look and feel confident in your photographs.
- Are you worried about how your arms might look? Why not try the 'teapot arm' a la Michelle Trachtenberg in some of your shots. The hand on the hip ensures that your arm doesn't lay flat and appear wider than it is
- What about the worry over a slight double chin? You don't want to have to look back and cringe at some of your wedding pictures when the appearance of a double chin can be so easily avoided. You'll be pleased to know that a simple head tilt can be enough to banish a double chin out of sight completely. Take Heidi Klum’s lead and be sure to tilt your head back and a little to the left. It'll help to smooth out your neck and lift your entire face in one fell swoop
- If you're plagued by a shiny complexion, be sure to carry blotting tissues with you on your Big Day. With cameras surrounding you practically the whole time, my trick is to keep them tucked into your bra, or the top of your dress (and out of plain view). This means that you can blot away any excess oils between photos without anyone really noticing.
