Why Kate Middleton always has blown out waves

There is no doubt blown out waves are one of Kate Middleton’s most identifiable beauty features. So when Harper’s Bazaar recently revealed there may in fact be a secret reason behind the Duchess of Cambridge's hairstyle of choice, we were so intrigued.

Interestingly, it has been revealed that the Duchess has a large scar that runs along the hairline on the left hand side of her face. This scar has only been photographed once in 2011, when she had her hair pinned back in a half-up half-down do. The Palace responded to enquiries off the back of this event, saying that the scar was the result of a ‘childhood operation’, without providing any further information.
While the Duchess’s waves have no doubt inspired countless blowouts over the years, we think she looks equally as gorgeous with her hair pinned up, scar or no scar.

Now that I think about it have never seen her with straight hair. But it’s always gorgeous!

Kate always looks gorgeous and her hair looks lovely. Her scar is not noticeable but it must be horrible to always be in the spotlight of media.

It's certainly not very noticeable but it's something she's aware of so it's understandable she wants to hide it. She's so lovely and natural.

I understand why she hides it- it's not that visible at all and she is drop dead gorgeous with or without it... but I feel like the media tend to make a huge deal out of not making a huge deal about things. If I were her I wouldn't want every other headline to be "DUTCHESS SHOWS OFF IMPERFECTIONS", "DUTCHESS NOT HIDING HER SCAR", "DUTCHESS JUST LIKE THE REST OF US" and you know the tabloids go there.

The scar looks quite faded and she shouldn't feel that she should hide it but if she feels more comfortable with her hair out, that is her choice.

I wonder what the operation was for? Anyways, she looks great and the scar is barely noticeable.

This is the first I've heard of her having a scar. I don't care how she wears her hair, she's still gorgeous. Now if only I could obtain her fabulous blown out waves!

Kate is gorgeous in everything she wear's & how she has her hair too, I love her new hairstyle but still loved her beautiful long lock's too with or without a scar which to me I haven't noticed & yet I know everything about Kate as a royal even before she became a royal, I'm Kate's number one fan :)

She is so gorgeous. I can hardly notice her scar. However I can understand how the media would make it more Obvious.

I would have never noticed a scar on her. I think she looks lovely, hair up or down. I also think with so many people at your feet, helping you to look your best, it is easy peasy to dress extravagantly and always have gorgeous hair styles. ....not like with us mere mortals.

Such a beautiful young woman and the scar really does not make any difference.

If it wasn't pointed out then nobody would know.

Oh wow it’s hardly noticeable but is quite a long scar isn’t it? Doesn’t matter, big volume blowy waves suit her to a tee

Wow I would never have noticed! I suppose we all have our war scars. I've got one under my right eyebrow from crashing into the coffee table as a toddler and more recently a new one behind my right ear from a recent operation. I don't particularly want to achieve any more scars.

Kate really is one of the most natural beauties on Earth and she always looks fabulous. I've always loved and envied her gorgeous hair.

I reckon it's not the real reason at all. Kate probably wears her hair the way she wants to with all those gorgeous waves bouncing about.
